From Friday 20 March schools, childcare and other educational settings are closed to everyone except:

  • children whose parents are critical to the covid19 response and who cannot be safely cared for at home
  • vulnerable children who cannot be safely cared for at home

Staff will be providing year group specific online resources on the website (pupil zone / year xxx / home learning) and will be regularly checking children's work.  If you do not have internet access you can collect year group activity packs from the school entrance hall - please observe social distancing rules.  Every year group has an email address which will be checked every day (e.g. year1@gainsborough.cheshire.sch.uk)  If your child does not know their log on for 'Purple Mash' or 'Times Tables Rockstars', please contact the school office by email.

Emergency childcare provision

If parents’ work is critical to the coronavirus response and they cannot work from home, and their children cannot be safely cared for at home, they will be prioritised for childcare provision.

Government guidance 22nd March 2020:

'You should only send your child to school if you have to, because your work is critical to our COVID-19 response and they cannot be safely cared for at home.  If you are able to keep your child at home, you should.  The fewer children in school the less risk to everyone.' #StayHomeSaveLives

INFORMATION FROM NHS WEBSITE

  • If you have symptoms, stay at home for 7 days
  • If you live with other people, they should stay at home for 14 days from the day the first person has symptoms
  • If you live with someone who is 70 or over, has a long-term condition, is pregnant or has a weakened immune system, try to find somewhere else for them to stay for 14 days.
  • If you have to stay at home together, try to keep away from each other as much as possible.
