Multicultural arts week

Lesson: Art and design

We have started to explore Australia for Multicultural Arts Week.

Our first challenge was to design a Boomerang using the colours and symbols from Aboriginal art. Mrs Cooper also shared a real boomerang with us.

We have also had the opportunity to play a didgeridoo (Thank you to one of our parents). This caused great hilarity and even more so when Mrs Kettle lost her voice from (trying to) playing it!

We have also started to learn and indigenous tribal song- Inanay Capuana (follow the you tube link to learn it too).

The week will be finished off making a Bullroarer. Our very own Crocodile Dundee (Mrs Cooper) is very good at getting a sound from it. Next week we will be seeing if we can make it work.

We have also designed our own Australian Art using the animals we have researched during our English lessons.
