Extra Curricular Activities
We offer our pupils an excellent range of activities during the school day and after school. Activities are available to pupils regardless of ability, gender and talent and vary on a termly basis. The activities are led by our teaching staff or fully qualified staff from a variety of outside agencies.
Activities include:
- Games, sport and athletics
- Clubs at lunchtimes and after school
- Inter-school events, concerts and competitions
- Music tuition (violin, cello and guitar)
- Choir
- Lego
- Arts and Crafts
Clubs take place during or after school. This year we are pleased to offer at least 18 clubs ranging from Netball and Athletics to Computing and Choir.
How do you apply for a club?
A letter will be sent out the term before the club starts asking if you would like your child to apply for that club. A google form will be set up so that you can register your child's interest against a club. We will then confirm with you if your child has been successful in gaining a place at the club or not.
Each club has a set number of places but this will differ for each club depending on what the activity is, the age of the pupils and resources needed. We select on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis. Occasionally, some staff will invite particular pupils – Athletics Club, Cross Country Club and Football Team are good examples of this – as these children will be entering local competitions.
Unfortunately, it is not always possible to accommodate everyone’s choices but we aim to offer as many places as possible. The clubs aim to provide fun and often new experiences.
