Phonics

We now use the highly successful Read Write Inc. Phonics programme to teach our children to read, write and spell – we know what it takes to make literacy pleasurable and rewarding for our children.

We focus on delivering high quality phonics lessons.

• We gain the latest programme updates through regular visits from our Ruth Miskin trainer
• We ensure our high standards are maintained through monitiring and coaching.
• We keep up to date with new strategies for helping your child with phonics and reading
• We enjoy teaching and seeing the progress of ALL the children in our school

Phonics sounds are taught in 3 sets – 1, 2 and 3. Below are some leaflets, which explain each Set of sounds and what you can do to help your child/ren at home. The books your child brings home will contain the sounds they are working on. If you are ensure of the Set they are working on, please speak to your class teacher.
