Extra Curricular Activities

We offer our pupils an excellent range of activities during the school day and after school. Activities are available to pupils regardless of ability, gender and talent and vary on a termly basis. The activities are led by our teaching staff or fully qualified staff from a variety of outside agencies.

Activities include:

  • Whole school plays and musicals
  • Games, sport and athletics
  • Clubs before school, lunchtimes and after school
  • Inter-school/regional/national events, concerts and competitions
  • Music tuition (violin, cello and guitar), choir and drama

Clubs take place before, during or after school. This year we are pleased to offer at least 18 clubs ranging from Netball and Cross Country to Messy Art and Big Science.

How do you apply for a club?
A letter will be sent out the term before the club starts asking if you would like your child to apply for that club. You will be notified by text if your application is successful.

How do we select pupils?
Each club has a set number of places but this will differ for each club depending on what the activity is, the age of the pupils and resources needed. When the application slips are returned by the required date, they are folded and pupils are selected at random. We do not select on a ‘first-come, first-served’ basis. Occasionally, some staff will invite particular pupils – Athletics Club, Cross Country Club and Football Team are good examples of this – as these children will be entering competitions at a local, regional or national level.

Unfortunately, it is not always possible to accommodate everyone’s choices but we aim to offer as many places as possible. The clubs aim to provide fun and often new experiences.
