School Council
Gainsborough has a well established School Council comprising of demorcratically elected pupil members from Years 2 - 6. It effectively represents one of our many ways of including the children’s views in all aspects of school life. Pupils' ideas and opinions are highly valued and the School Council meet each month to discuss items that matter to them. Pupils complete a questionnaire every year and the Council seek to address any issues that have been raised.
So far this year our school council have met with Councillor Kathryn Flavell, Chair of the Cheshire East Children and Families Committee and her Vice Chair, Councillor Carol Bulman when they visited Gainsborough during the autumn term. Year 4, 5 and 6 councillors then respresented Gainsborough at the Armistice Day Service with Mayor, Cllr Walton.
Matters for discussion so far this year have been agreeing the autumn lunch menu, behaviour, learning and challenge in lessons and much more!

Year 4 - 6 members of the school council were invited to The Oaks Academy to discuss matters arising from the 'Your Street, Your Crewe' initiative. During the session, pupils from both schools engaged in conversations about how safety measures could be improved outside the two schools.
